John Lawrence joins the new Kimball's Kitchen as Chef de Cuisine. Lawrence focuses on straightforward dishes using quality ingredients and fresh seafood sourced throughout the Atlantic. Prior to joining the Sanderling team, he was Chef de Cuisine at Tides Inn and finessed his fine dining at Le Meridian and Windsor Court Hotel in New Orleans. He launched his culinary career with Ritz-Carlton in Florida. Lawrence received a degree in Culinary Art from the New England Culinary Institute in Burlington, VT.

Kimball’s Kitchen

If a special evening of dining is in your vacation plans, look no further than Kimball’s Kitchen, formerly the Left Bank. Located on the Soundside of the Sanderling Resort, Kimball’s offers glorious view of the Currituck Sound and its inspiring sunsets, outstanding service and a world class menu. Kimball’s Kitchen offers everything that is special about both the Sanderling and the Outer Banks.

Spotlighting local, grass-fed prime steaks, freshly caught local seafood, and an extensive raw bar selection, the restaurant creates a great dining experience with an upscale coastally casual environment. Of particular note are the numerous varieties of local oysters and the classic seafood tower, with a daily changing list of locally caught fish and seafood. Daily pasta and risotto specials are accompanied by an extensive Wine Spectator wine and champagne list. Children are welcome and are served smaller portions of the standard menu with a 50% price break.

The restaurant is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from May through October with live entertainment on Saturday evenings. Kimball's Kitchen is open May 1, 2014- October 26, 2014.  Kimball's will also be open Sunday, May 25, July 6 and August 31 over the holiday weekends.

On Sunday and Monday in season, and nightly from November to April, Kimball’s provides a spectacular venue for large parties, rehearsal dinners and events for up to 60 people. Event menus are inspired by the Kimball’s Kitchen fare and allow for the creation of very special occasions.
