Channing Mentzer is a well-known local acoustic guitarist/vocalist in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. As a youth, he spent countless hours listening to his father and his friends play guitar and developed a love of music. As a teen working on the family farm, he listened to country music, and studied acoustic guitar, bass guitar, and trombone. He also worked at his family’s dinner theater, building stage sets which led to a career in film. Later influences include classic rock and roll bands such as Bob Seger, Hall and Oates, Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Who, Van Halen, Led Zeppelin, and ZZ Top. When not traveling the world to work on major film and TV productions, you can find him performing locally at Bernie’s Brothers, Stripers, Sundogs, Tap That OBX, and Uncle Ike's.
