What can I expect at check-In?  You will be contacted by the Guest Service Team the day before arrival by email with arrival instructions and a COVID-19 health assessment.  A Team Member will meet you at your car with the keys in a sealed envelope.

Is luggage assistance available?  Luggage assistance will not be available except to those with accessibility needs.  Elevators are available in the North and South Inns.

Do I need to wear a face-covering?  Face coverings are required by the State of North Carolina and  Dare County in any indoor and outdoor public spaces where 6ft social distancing can not be maintained. Our team members will wear them as part of their uniforms. A Sanderling face mask can be purchased at the front desk.

Can I check into my room early or have a late departure?  Due to our extensive housekeeping protocols this season, we are not able to honor any early arrivals or late checkout requests.

What is included in the Resort Fee?  The May - October Resort Service Fee is $30 per night and includes beach chairs and umbrellas, parking, wi-fi, coffee and newspapers.   From November- March, the nightly fee is $15 per night

Is Housekeeping available during my stay?  Housekeeping will not be entering the rooms or homes during your stay for daily service or turndown. We will be stocking them with additional towels and happy to bring more upon request.  In the Vacation Homes, please put your trash in the receptacles located in the carport area and we will wheel it to the curb on trash day.

Is room service available during my stay?   Take-out or in restaurant dining are the only options this season. We will not be offering room service.

Where can I get coffee?  Coffee will be available complimentary daily from 7 AM - 11 AM at the Beach House Bar.

Can I get a microwave or a coffee pot in my room? Unfortunately, this season these are not available to be placed in the room.

Can I get rollaway or pack n play?    If we know prior to arrival that you need a rollaway or pack n play we will have them in the room prior to giving it the "housekeeping seal".   There are a limited number available.  Rollaways are $35/nightly and pack n plays are complimentary.

Will the pools be open? The Resort Family Pool and the Adult Tranquility Pool are open and will be heated, if necessary, until October 18th. Loungers are grouped by party with appropriate social distancing.  The indoor pool is also open the same hours as the Spa.

Are the beaches open?  The beaches and our accesses are open.  Beach Chairs and umbrellas, available until October 18th, are provided with assistance from our Beach Bellman and will be sanitized by our sprayers between uses.

Is the fitness center open?  The fitness center is not open until we move into Phase 3.  Enjoy the many outside activities available while maintaining social distancing.

Is the Spa at Sanderling open? The Spa at Sanderling is open. The indoor pool will be open the same hours as the Spa. Unfortunately, we are not able to do facials and couple massages at this time and the steam room will remain closed.  Please learn more here about FAQ specific to your spa experience.

Is the Lifesaving Station Restaurant open?  The Lifesaving Station Restaurant  are open for limited seating capacity both inside and on our outside patio with social distancing.  Breakfast will be available from 7am - 11am and Dinner from 5pm - 10pm. Lunch will be served when the Sandbar is not open.  Menus can be found here.

Is the Sandbar open?  The Sandbar is open daily until October 4th from 11:30am - 5pm.  The Sandbar will be open on weekends until October 18th. During inclement weather, the Lifesaving Station will be open for lunch.

Is Kimball's Kitchen open? Unfortunately with the shorter season and limited capacity seating, we have made the difficult decision not to open Kimball's Kitchen for the 2020 season.

Will S'mores be available? S'mores packages will be available at the front desk. We ask for no more than 10 people to be gathered at a time at the firepits and for social distancing between parties to be maintained.

Can I rent a bicycle? Please contact Kitty Hawk Kites to reserve a bicycle.  Reservations are required.

Are there other restaurants and shops open in Duck?  Most restaurants are offering seating at 50% capacity and many have outside areas. Most shops are open at 50% capacity and require a face covering.

What should I pack? We might recommend beach chairs, pack n play (if needed), additional cutlery and glassware for take-out services and a face covering for each family member.

Why is there a minimum stay requirement? This season, due to our extensive housekeeping processes, we do have minimum stay requirements.  There  may be opportunities that our reservation specialists can offer alternatives by emailing reservations@sanderling-resort.com or calling 877.650.4812.

What is the cancellation policy? 
Reservations can be canceled for any reason up until 24 hours prior to arrival for a full refund, less a $35 processing fee. If a no-show, the deposit can be used as a future credit.  We want you to feel comfortable traveling to us from your homes and we understand that could change from the time you book. This is your peace of mind guarantee.
