What can I expect at check-In?  You will be contacted before arrival to pre-register, receive an orientation and electronically sign your registration card and COVID-19 health assessment.  Your keys will be available upon arrival in a sealed envelope.

Is luggage assistance available?  Luggage assistance will not be available except to those with accessibility needs.  Elevators are available in the North and South Inns.

Do I need to wear a face covering?  It is strongly encouraged that face coverings are worn when in public areas. Our team members will wear them as part of their uniforms. A Sanderling face mask can be purchased at the front desk.

Can I check into my room early or have a late departure?  Our protocols require that no rooms or homes be turned for a same day arrival.  The 11am check out and the 4pm check in has been factored into this time. We are sorry we can not honor any early arrivals or late departures into the accommodations this season.

What is included in the Resort Fee?  The Resort Service Fee will be reduced in May and June from $30 to $15 per night and includes parking, wi-fi, coffee and newspapers.   The Resort Fee will be $30 per night in July - October.  We anticipate beach chairs and umbrellas to return in July.

Is Housekeeping available during my stay?  Housekeeping will not be entering the rooms or homes during your stay for daily service or turndown. We will be stocking them with additional towels and happy to bring more upon request.  In the Vacation Homes, please put your trash in the receptacles located in the carport area and we will wheel it to the curb on trash day.

Is room service available during my stay?   Take-out or in restaurant dining (when made available) are the only options this season. We will not be offering room service.

Where can I get coffee?  Coffee will be available complimentary daily from 7am - 11am at the Beach House Bar.

Can I get a microwave or a coffee pot in my room? Unfortunately, this season these are not available to be placed in the room.

Can I get a rollaway or pack n play?    If we know prior to arrival that you need a rollaway or pack n play we will have them in the room prior to giving it the "housekeeping seal".   There are a limited number available.  Rollaways are $35/nightly and pack n plays are complimentary.

Will the pools be open? The Resort Family Pool and the Adult Tranqulity Pool will open Saturday, May 23rd.   Loungers will be grouped by party with appropriate social distancing.  The indoor pool is also open the same hours as the Spa.

Are the beaches open?  The beaches and our accesses are open.  We will not have chairs and umbrellas along with beach concierge services until July.  We can provide additional beach towels at the front desk.

How can I order chairs and umbrellas?  For May and June until our equipment arrives, Just for the Beach will deliver and set up beach chairs.  Set up is by 9:30am and pick up will be after 5pm same day.  Reservations are required at least 24 hours in advance by calling 866.629.7368.  Pricing is 2 chairs/1 umbrella - $260/week; 4 chairs/1 umbrella $305/week.  Prorated amounts are available with a 2 night minimum.  Once set the chairs will be marked  with the guest's last name. They are also offering just a drop-off/pick-up service at $35/umbrella per week and chairs are $20/chair per week.  Some minimums and delivery fees may apply.

Is the fitness center open?  The fitness center is not open until we move into Phase 2.  Enjoy the many outside activities available while maintaining social distancing.

Is the Spa at Sanderling open? The Spa at Sanderling will reopen on Monday, June 1st.  The indoor pool will be open the same hours as the Spa. Unfortunately, we are not able to do facials and couple massages at this time and the steam room will remain closed.  Please learn more here about FAQ specific to your spa experience.

Is the Lifesaving Station Restaurant open?  The Lifesaving Station Restaurant and No 5 Bar is open for take-out only in Phase 1.  We plan to be open for limited seating capacity both inside and on our outside patio with social distancing between parties by June 1st.   Breakfast will be available from 8am - 11am; Lunch from 12pm - 2pm and Dinner from 5pm - 8pm.  Menus can be found here.  After June 5th, we will open Lifesaving Station for Breakfast and Dinner.  Lunch will be served at the Sandbar except during inclement weather and then will be inside at the Lifesaving Station.

Is the Sandbar open? We plan to open the Sandbar on June 5, 2020.   Food Service from 12- 5pm.  Beverage service continues until 8pm.  During inclement weather days the Lifesaving Station will be open for lunch.

Is Kimball's Kitchen open? Unfortunately with the shorter season and limited capacity seating, we have made the difficult decision not to open Kimball's Kitchen for the 2020 season.

Will S'mores be available? S'mores packages will be available at the front desk. We ask for no more than 10 people to be gathered at a time at the firepits and for social distancing between parties to be maintained.

Will Kitty Hawk Kites be available? Kitty Hawk Kites is open and many of their services and tours are available even if they are not always here at our kiosk.  Please visit their website at www.kittyhawk.com to book your outdoor experience.

Can I rent a bicycle? Please contact Kitty Hawk Kites to reserve a bicycle.  Reservations are required.

Are there other restaurants and shops open in Duck?  Yes, most restaurants are doing take-out and will be moving to limited capacity seating as Local and State ordinances allow. Some are doing delivery.  Most shops are open at 50% capacity and require a face covering.

What should I pack? We might recommend beach chairs, pack n play (if needed), additional cutlery and glassware for take-out services and a face covering for each family member.

Why is there a 3 night minimum?  This season due to the buffers between stays and the extensive houskeeping processes we do have a three night minimum.  There may be opportunities that a 1 or 2 night hole may be available and can be offered by calling our reservation team at 877.650.4812 or emailing at reservations@sanderling-resort.com  If available, the room type options could be limited.

What is the cancellation policy?  This reservation can be cancelled for any reason at any time without penalty. If a no-show, the deposit can be used as a future credit.   We want you to feel comforable to travel to us from your homes and we understand that could change from the time you book. This is your peace of mind guarantee.
