What time are check-in and check-out?

Check-in is 4 pm and Check-out is 11 am. Early check-in and late check-out are available based on availability. Fees apply


Do you require a credit card for incidentals?

Yes. A $100 per night hold will be placed a valid credit card at the time of check-in. 


Do you charge a Resort Fee?

We charge a $39 taxable nightly resort fee including private beach access, beach chairs and umbrellas, beach and pool towels, self-parking including use of electric and Tesla charging stations, high-speed wireless internet, in-room coffee and tea, morning coffee in the lobby, lawn games, and more.


What is your Deposit Policy?

Standard Deposit Policy is equal to 50% of your stay including taxes at the time of booking. The remaining balance will be due 7-days prior to arrival. If a reservation is booked within 7-days of arrival, 100% is charged at the time of booking.


What is your Cancellation Policy?

Reservations must be canceled at least 7-days prior to arrival for a refund of the deposit. Reservations canceled less than 7-days prior to arrival will result in forfeiture of full payment of the stay. Early departures and no-shows are considered as a cancelation and are subject to forfeiture of full payment of the stay.

Are Resort Fee, Deposit, and Cancellation Policies the same for Vacation Rental Homes?

The Deposit at the time of booking a Vacation Rental Home is 50% of the stay including taxes. The remaining balance is due thirty (30) days prior to arrival. Vacation Rental Homes are also subject to a Cancellation Policy.

Vacation Rental Seasonal Policy (Memorial Day – Labor Day)
Notice of cancellation is required at least sixy (60) days prior to arrival for a full refund of the deposit. Cancellations received less than 60-days prior to arrival will result in forfeiture of the full payment of the stay including nightly rate, taxes, and fees. Early departures or no-shows are considered as a cancellation of reserved days and are subject to forfeiture of the full payment of the stay.

Standard Vacation Rental Policy (January - May 25 and September 4 - December)
Notice of cancellation is required at least thirty (30) days prior to arrival for a full refund of the deposit. Cancellations received less than 30-days prior to arrival will result in forfeiture of the full payment of the stay including nightly rate, taxes, and fees. Early departures or no-shows are considered as a cancellation of reserved days and are subject to forfeiture of the full payment of the stay.

The Resort Fee for Vacation Rental Homes is a 5% taxable nighly fee (minimum $39 per night).


Do Vacation Rental Homes get access to resort amenities?

Yes! Guests staying in Vacation Rental Homes get access to all of the resort's activities and amenities.


Is the resort smoke-free?

Sanderling is a smoke-free property. A $250 recovery fee will be charged for smoking in your room.


Are pets allowed?

As part of our commitment to provide the highest level of service to our guests, Sanderling welcomes dog(s) staying with their owners in designated pet-friendly hotel guestrooms/vacation homes.  The fee is $300 for hotel guestrooms, and $400 for vacation homes per stay. A maximum of two (2) dogs per guestroom/vacation home, under 60 lbs. each.  This fee will be added to your reservation upon check-in and is non-refundable.


How do I make restaurant reservations?

We accept reservations online for The Lifesaving Station and Kimball's Kitchen. Kimball's Kitchen and Sandbar are open seasonally.

How do I book activities and excursions?

Many activities may be booked online through our on-site activity operator, Kitty Hawk Kites. Reservations can be made here.  View all activities here to start planning your getaway.


Do you have electric car chargers on-site?

Yes, we have three electric car chargers on-site at Sanderling Resort, including options for both Tesla and other electric vehicles, conveniently located in our parking lot.

Does the resort have a spa?

Yes. The award-winning full-service Spa at Sanderling is open daily offering a wide variety of massage and body treatments, nail services, and more. Advance reservations are highly recommended and may be made online here.
